Cracking the Top 100 - My Journey to Hack The Box Elite

Making it to the top 100 on Hack The Box is no small feat—especially considering the platform hosts over two million talented hackers from around the world. Today, I'm proud to announce that I've reached this elite milestone.

Getting here wasn't easy. In fact, it was brutally challenging at times. Some "Insane" machines were so complex and intricate that I spent days, sometimes even weeks, methodically working through every possibility. Perseverance was key. There were countless late nights debugging exploits, researching obscure vulnerabilities, and continually adapting my approach. The harder the machine, the more valuable the learning experience became.

Along the way, I expanded my knowledge immensely, particularly around advanced penetration testing techniques for Windows environments. I've sharpened my skills with essential tools like Mimikatz for credential extraction, Responder for LLMNR/NBT-NS poisoning, and Kerberoasting tools for cracking Kerberos tickets. Techniques like Pass-the-Hash, LDAP enumeration, SMB exploitation, and privilege escalation with Hot Potato attacks became second nature. WinPEAS, BloodHound, and PowerView helped map out intricate Active Directory environments, elevating my expertise in attacking and defending complex enterprise networks.

Linux machines on Hack The Box also taught me invaluable lessons. I dove deep into privilege escalation methods, mastering enumeration tools like LinPEAS and honing skills with sudo exploits, cron job manipulations, and kernel vulnerabilities. Each machine, whether Windows or Linux, pushed my capabilities to new heights.
